"Qigong for Summer" course

Qigong is an ancient healing art that effectively enhances and refines the body's energy, balancing emotions and refreshes the mind.

The Rangiora course is Tuesdays from 10.30am - 11.35am

You can start anytime. Booking is essential.

Each season offers different Qigong exercises. Postures are moving or stationary, both standing and sitting.

This is what awaits you in this Qigong course:

  1. We start with a 10-15 minute Qigong warm-up sequence
  2. In the 65-minute class we practice an "easy-to-follow" Qigong sequence
  3. In the 8-week term you learn enjoyable Qigong practices in motion for the Summer energy
  4. The last part is a "Stillness"Qigong practice in sitting posture - Duration 5-12 minutes.
  5. To Summer belongs the heart energy, small intestines, cardiovascular system and the tongue (speech) is the opening. The colour is red. The movements are in a soft, flowing rhythm, which can improve the respiratory, blood circulation and vitality. The health of the heart is dependent on the mobility of the Thoracic spine, the exercises massages the heart and lungs and increases flexibility in the thoracic spine.
  6. Through the natural, unrestricted postures the meridians or energy channels open more, so the life force "Qi" can circulate freely and increase.
  7. With daily practice your body will become more supple, conscious and your movements graceful
