The Qigong practices change during the year

Staying in tune with the rhythm of the seasons, we can experience new vitality, emotional stability, and a deep sense of inner peace.

The element of Metal is associated with Autumn

When the leaves change colour, and the air grows cooler, it's the perfect time to immerse yourself in the practice of deep breathing and activating the lung and large intestine meridians with movement. This ancient form of movement and meditation can be practised in any season, but it unfolds a special power during the autumn months. Just as nature sheds its leaves in autumn, this practice helps strengthen transformation from low energy to vitality and detoxify the body.

The "Metal" element helps us to “cut off” unnecessary habits, let go and turn inward.

By letting go of what weighs you down, you create space for new growth and transformation, mirroring the cycle of the seasons.

In Chinese Medicine, the Lungs and Large Intestine are the organs that represent the energy of this season.

The nose is the "window" of the lungs, related to the smell, the colour is white and silver. This season emphasizes the importance of respiratory and digestive health. The emotion of grief and the ability to let go of what is not serving you.

The complex structure of the lungs, combined with rhythmic breathing, ensures a constant supply of oxygen to our bodies while efficiently expelling toxins. It's important to maintain lung health through exercises such as deep breathing exercises and regular physical activity.

The daily warm-up exercises for Autumn  aim to balance lung energy through breathing exercises, loosen the joints and release physical tension.

Qigong practices for Autumn: Eagle Breath; Embracing the Tree; Iron Shirt Qigong, e.g. Holding the Golden Urn; Spinal Cord Breathing, Energising Breathing a.m.
